8月19日，小帕给恩师罗奇过50岁生日。

罗奇说MMA想让托尼输来证明MMA比拳击强。但如果他们和一个真正的拳击高手较量，那将被杀掉。
如果他们敢和托尼战着打，托你将毁灭他。这就是为什么大家叫他“熄灯号”。
我真的想不出有哪个MMA拳手能和托尼战立格斗。

Freddie Roach is training his oldie but a goodie fighter James Toney for MMA matches now.

The old-school boxer is seeking a new lease on life by stepping into the octogon.

Freddie Roach says, “I think they’re using James as a way to say MMA fighters are better than boxers. If he fights a quality ground guy, once he goes to the ground he’s gonna get killed. But If a guy chooses to stand up with James, James is gonna destroy him. That’s why they call him “Lights Out“. I really don’t think there’s one fighter in MMA that could stand with James.”

That means that Freddie wants Toney to stay on his feet. Well, its obvious that no MMA fighter has a chance of KOing James Toney in a striking war. Toney’s Philly shell defense and killer left hook will leave him untouched against the clumsy, sloppy MMA strikers.

But it’s equally obvious that MMA guys will take Toney down and submit him.

So where does that leave fight fans who want to watch the fights? Are we to hope the MMA guys have mercy and let James do his thing on his feet for a while? That would be no better than pro wrestling.

I think James Toney should get into a BJJ gym and learn the ground game a bit more thoroughlly before he gets in the octogon.
