前五个量级的梅威瑟自称“TBE’（最好的）已经有几年了。

现在已经40岁的梅威瑟2015年退休之前是12回合击败贝托，保持了49胜0负26场比赛击倒的记录。目前梅威瑟正在考虑复出，唯一感兴趣的是UFC选手麦格雷戈。

最近梅威瑟英国之旅的讨论主题还是他自称的“TBE’，在过去梅威瑟因自称的“TBE’而受到了很多历史学家的批评，因为这些历史学家认为有很多拳手比梅威瑟更具有专业性。

梅威瑟说；“我尊重那些传说中的战士，他们为我铺平了道路，但你可以查看一下战绩，我比他们击败了更多的世界冠军。看看马西亚诺的战绩就知道了，都是刷的一些水货（ducks）。阿里从来没有击败过肯.诺顿，这是事实。阿里经常靠在围绳边挨揍，人们还以此为荣。但我在另一方面更伟大，因为我是一个成功的商人。

But Mayweather believes there is a big difference between his record and Marciano's record, and he also holds himself above Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, and even Joe Louis.
“If we go back and look at Marciano’s record, he fought a bunch of ducks. Ali, he never beat Ken Norton..... this is the truth. There’s nothing cool about laying on the ropes, taking punishment - and being glorified for that [when discussing Ali's 'rope a dope' tactics].  If another fighter is known as the greatest fighter, they say, ‘oh he’s the greatest.’ Well, then I’m greater in other places. I’m the greatest business man."
