AMIR KHAN is finally ready to fight fierce rival Kell Brook in a domestic blockbuster at Wembley next May.
The former world super-lightweight champion has avoided IBF welterweight title-holder Brook for two years but will agree a bout if he is snubbed by Manny Pacquiao.
Pac-Man is scheduled to bring down the curtain on his career on April 9 in Las Vegas.
And Khan, 28, features on a three-man shortlist of possible opponents along with Americans Terence Crawford and Timothy Bradley.
The Bolton fighter said: “I’m waiting to hear back from Pacquiao.
“I’m pretty sure he doesn’t fancy Bradley or Crawford, so I’m in with a chance.”
Khan will get his answer from the Filipino’s camp on Friday.
He has been in a similar situation before when he signed a contract to fight Floyd Mayweather but never got a signed deal back.
Khan added: “If Manny chooses someone else, I’ll fight Brook. I know I can beat him and it should be at Wembley in late May.
“June is no good for me because that’s when Ramadan starts. If it’s going to happen, it has to be before then.
“Fighting then would also give us time to build the fight up properly into a huge event.”
Pacquiao is guaranteed to pick up around ￡13million from what is expected to be his final fight and promoter Bob Arum believes he should snub Khan in favour of Crawford or Bra
