安东尼·约书亚将不会在英国继续战斗，因为拳迷们不会得到他们真正想要的。这是约书亚的经纪人、拳击推广人艾迪·赫恩的结论。

自去年9月在温布利战胜亚历山大·波维特金以来，AJ还没有参加过比赛。这是他的第22场职业拳赛，他在第七回合比赛中获胜，保住了他的IBF\WBO\WBA和IBO重量级拳王头衔。

最近一直有谣言说，约书亚与维尔德或富里的谈判正在进行中。两场比赛都会让拳击迷们垂涎欲滴，但谈判失败了，AJ将于6月在纽约麦迪逊竞技场迎战米勒。

这将是沃特福德出生的约书亚第一次出现在英国以外的地方比赛。而推广人赫恩透露，29岁的约书亚必须在美国战斗，以提高他的形象。

他说：“我们将约书亚带到美国的战略由来已久，本来我们认为会更晚。但目前我们无法向英国拳迷提供他们想要的战斗，所以我们将去他们的后院打一名美国人。一旦这些美国人看到安东尼·约书亚在拳台内外的表现，他就会成为一颗巨星。”

米勒绰号“大宝贝”，是一名前踢拳手。虽然也是23场不败，但米勒没有打过什么有质量的对手，因此多数人相信这只不过是约书亚的一场“走秀节目”。

然而，这对赫恩的Matchroom推广公司来说是一个不错的策略。去年，赫恩与DAZN签署了一项协议。

ANTHONY JOSHUA will not fight next in the United Kingdom because the fans will not be given what they truly want.

That is the verdict of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who manages Joshua.

AJ has not fought since his victory over Alexander Povetkin in September at Wembley.

It was his 22nd professional bout, which he won in the seventh round - retaining his IBF, WBO, WBA and IBO heavyweight titles.

There were strong rumours that a fight against either Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury were in the pipeline.

Either match would have boxing fans salivating - but negotiations failed and instead AJ will face Jarrell Miller at New York’s Madison Square Gardens in June.

It will be the first time the Watford-born fighter will appear outside out of the UK for a match.

And promoter Hearn has revealed that the 29-year-old must fight in the States to boost his profile.

“Our strategy to bring Joshua to the U.S has come early, we thought it would be later,” he said.

“But at the moment we can’t deliver the UK fans the fight they want, so we’ll box an American in his backyard.

"Once these Americans see Anthony Joshua in the ring and out of the ring he’s going to be a massive, massive star over there.”

Miller, known as “Big Baby”, is a former kick boxer and is also unbeaten in 23 fights.

Though he has yet to face anyone of the same ilk as Joshua, and many believe the fight will be a walkover for the Brit.

However, it comes as a wider strategy for Hearn’s Matchroom boxing, who signed a deal with streaming service DAZN last year.

“We see from the commercial deals and the TV deals that we have with him globally that he’s by far the biggest star, when you take America and the UK out which are probably the two biggest markets in boxing right now, he’s the biggest star in the sport,” Hearn added.

“But in America his profile is quite small to be honest with you. Fury and Wilder’s profile was the same size before their fight.

“Now Fury and Wilder’s profile has probably outgrown Joshua’s out there.

“He would prefer to still be fighting at Wembley on April 13 but we’ve got to a stage where [New York] now looks like the right thing to do, if we can get the deal over the line in the next few days, week then I’m very, very excited. I think it’s brilliant.”
