帕奎奥的母亲把失败归咎于牧师

Mrs Dionisia Pacquiao claims she knows why his son, Filipino boxing legend Manny, was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquezlast weekend.

In an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, she said the result was just deserts for changing his religion.

The report said that the 33-year-old Pacquiao left the Catholic Church last year and went with a Bible- based movement whose members called themselves Christians.

Mrs Dionisia said her son has not been getting enough sleep because of the Bible studies with the "protestant pastors", which go on late into the night.

Perhaps that is the reason why "he went to sleep" in the middle of the 12-round welter weight fight against the Mexican last Saturday (Sunday afternoon, Singapore time).

The report said the pastors are not Protestants but the mother refers to them as such.

It claimed that she is furious every time they come to her son's mansion in General Santos City, the southern-most port city of the country,and "crowd around him".

"Since the Protestant pastors came into his life, he has not focused on his boxing," the Inquirer quoted her as saying.

"They always pray, with Manny losing sleep."
