拳坛史话：“糖块”是怎样练成的(一）雷•罗宾逊：武者，坚忍不拔，自强不息

一直很喜欢sugar这个绰号，有一种非常阳光的感觉，拳坛几代糖块都有不俗表现。今夜沪上凉爽有风，读毕搂抱兄听译的伦纳德访谈，心情愉悦，决定顺着笔聊聊糖块的故事，看官有闲，不妨同乐。

糖块一世的辉煌离我所处的年代大概是太远了，第一次真正看到“拳圣”的比赛是电影《愤怒的公牛》后顺便看了他与拉莫塔的大战。后来在网上陆续看了一些他的影像资料。黑白世界里的罗宾逊确实是我见过技术型拳手中最兼具杀手气质的一位。他有着上天赋予的绝佳身体条件，可以以此傲视群雄，但拳圣的字典里总是进攻第一，击倒第一。

旧时的拳手由于比赛回合数多，拳套轻，所以比赛节奏不算很快。罗宾逊的招牌战术是利用拳台空间顺时针移动，以前手刺拳控制距离，伺机发射后手大摆拳，莫斯利对阵马加里托的那场比赛很有罗宾逊的比赛风格。

拳圣最牛的杀手锏是中近距离的连续勾拳摆拳组合，左右开弓，仿佛千手观音一般，在击打肋骨时尤其有效。有时候会在脑子里想，罗宾逊的组合拳和帕奎奥的对攻同时进行，谁会先倒地？记得实况拳击做过测试，拳圣赢了。

1.        江湖地位




It was pretty clear to me that sugar ray Robinson was the greatest fighter ever lived, pound for pound: a magnificent brain of skills, dignity and ego.

Beginning at the last year of the war, it became more and more conscious that this was a guy who have already won 75 fights and could not get a championship fight, not because he was black, it just people would not fight him because they thought they are going to lose to him.

2.        糖块VS特鲁宾 II

In his first 45 fights he was undefeated, lost to **tt at 43, reverse that the same month and went on not losing a fight until 1951, against Turpin.

在的前45场比赛他都是不败的，43年输给了拉莫塔，就在那个月就成功复仇了。一直到1951年他才遭受第二次失败，输给特鲁宾。

It is Robinson at his best, he easily outpoints Joe Turpin for several rounds but Turpin was awkward enough to bully ray, win several rounds and cut ray badly around the eye.

那是罗宾逊最好的表现。他前几回合点数领先，但特鲁宾招式怪异，不仅反超比分，而且把罗宾逊的眼睛打开了口子。

It was almost one of those scenes in the old Rocky movie, you know, when it is “no, give me one more round”. The pattern was set, this guy was beaten Ray to the punch, all he needed to do is to close a little bit and go after the eye and he will win it.

就像我们在《洛奇》电影里看到的一样，那是“再给你一个回合”那样的情景，大局已定，这个家伙在收拾雷，他只要再靠近攻击雷的伤眼就好了。

Few seconds before stop the fight, he let both hands go.

比赛还剩几秒结束，他左右开弓了。

If the fight was stopped then, he will lose. But this was a determined fighter, who had to win his title back, had to win this fight, desperation set in, it was a do or die.

如果当时结束比赛雷就输了。但是这是一个下定决心的战士，要夺回自己的腰带，要赢得比赛，否则宁愿战死拳台。

He hit him with forty consecutive punches, holding Turpin up who was trying to fall, fight stopped, few seconds left in the 10th round. Had Turpin fallen and get up and went back into the fight, he would win with his consecutive ability because ray’s big cut.

雷连续四十记组合拳集中特鲁宾，扶住特鲁宾不让他倒下，比赛结束，技术性击倒，第十回合已经几乎结束。如果特鲁宾倒下了，站起来重新投入战斗，比赛可能会因为雷的伤势结束。

3.        风流才子



Sugar ray, greatest fighter ever lived, beat you anyway he choose. All his moves, his life styles, you know he had a pink Catlacy, dance with young women.

舒格雷，最好的拳手，他想怎么赢你就怎么赢你。他的行为与风格，你知道吗？他有一辆粉红色的凯迪拉克，终日与美女共舞。

Physically attractive, he was like movie-star-handsome, and also Robinson was like one of us, he is from New York; he danced in Times Square for dimes when he was a kid. So there was some night-time quality about Robinson, it was unique of that era; it would not matter if he was not the greatest fighter of all time at all for us to see him fight.

一表人才，像电影明星一样帅。而且罗宾逊就像我们一样，是土生土长的纽约客。他小时候在时代广场跳舞挣零花钱，在雷的身上有一种夜场气质，就算他不是世上最好的拳手我们也会愿意去看他的比赛。

He has a sense of strategy and technical stuff, be able to knock you out with either hands, be able to box, great chin and enormous courage. Robinson got knock out once and while, he always got up, and you are in danger if Robinson was at one knee and look at you.
他有技战术头脑，两只手都有足够的力量，会打点数，下巴坚硬并且浑身是胆。罗宾逊常常被击倒，但是总会站起来，如果比赛中你看见罗宾逊单膝跪地，看着你，你可能就有大麻烦了。

4.        艺术



His training camp was just fascinating, 50 or maybe 100 people just follow him around, he was the ultimate showman in my opinion, I still think his act of skipping robe was the best in all the dances I have ever seen, unbelievable, he did it ever day, and people are cheering, it was almost as good as going to one of his fights.

他的训练营很好玩，50到100余人总跟着他，他是个很有潜力的表演艺术家。我至今认为他的花式跳绳是我见过最好的舞蹈之一，他每天都跳，群众大喊大叫，就像看比赛一样精彩。

His style was just so unique and so perfect, he stroke you and you don’t know where it was coming from.

5.            One punch（一击致胜）



I saw Robinson’s best when he was tried to maintain his title against Fulmer, Fulmer has never been KO, he can take more punishments than any other middle weights, and he was beating sugar ray again, all of a sudden, it’s all over. Left hook, one punch and Fulmer down for the first time in his life.

我认为雷最好的一场比赛是他对阵费马，费马此前从未被击倒过，他比任何中量级拳手都耐打，而且他正领先，突然一记左勾拳，一击致胜，费马首次倒地，一切都结束了。


It was a picture perfect left hook, so picture perfect that the world book of encyclopedia as the picture of the boxing chapter.

6.        不堪热浪

I saw him going up to the light heavyweight, fighting Maxim in 120 degrees.

我见证了他在华氏120度升级轻重量级挑战马克西姆。

In all 18 rounds I think ray has taken 12 of it

他大概赢了18个回合里的12个。

In the 10th round the referee was actually going to faint from the heat and had to bring in a new referee.

到第十回合，裁判热昏了，换了一个。

By the 11th, ray is going slow motion, by 18th, he was carried back to the corner.

到了十一回合，雷打的像慢动作一样了，十八回合时，他热倒了，被人抬回拳角。

Some people said he was near death that night; they really have to revive him.

有人说当天的罗宾逊已经接近死亡。

He fights on till 44. Ray Robinson fought every one, he fought more champions then any one had ever faced in the history of boxing.

他一直打到44岁，与数不清的世界冠军交手。

7.        鏖战Basilo



He will not quit on Sugar ray, that was the hardest fight I have ever saw. Basilo just stay there and eat the decision.

Basilo 不会放过雷，那是我见过的最艰苦的一场比赛，Basilo 点数惜败。

Sugar ray gave that extra stuff in the fight. There is a picture of Basilo’s left eye after the fight, flatted like a base ball. He and the Robinson are just wiping at each other.

8.        定论

If god ever said “make a fighter, make a perfect fighter”, the closet will come to that would be sugar ray Robinson.

如果上帝说过“要有拳手，要有一个完美的拳手”，最接近于此的大概非雷罗宾逊莫属了吧。

确实，我觉得拳圣最牛的一点是输了没事，立刻重赛赢回来。
不过估计也就那个时代会有对手同意这样重赛。。。
