NAVARRETE vs GONZALEZ: Round 2

Gonzalez trying to get on the front foot more to start this round, not a bad idea. Getting some body shots in, you gotta like that. Something to slow weirdo Navarrete down. "Weirdo" in the nicest way. Gonzalez willing to throw when he gets caught in between, a sloppy southpaw stance but not waiting to turn back.

Navarrete building some confidence, may feel he's got the style of the fight figured out a bit more. Gonzalez is hanging in this really well, throwing shots to the body, right hands, but Navarrete's winning the fire fight, this is just not great for Gonzalez. But at the same time, what else is he going to do? Suddenly become a slickster? This is the fight it was always going to be. Gonzalez rocks Navarrete a bit in the final minute of this round and hey, woo, he might have stolen this one.

Navarrete gets tripped early in the round, looked like an intentional move from Gonzalez. Anything to win here, and who can blame him? Gonzalez trying to get Navarrete to throw, looks like he wants to counter, but Navarrete not taking the bait the way Gonzalez needs him to right now. Navarrete is really building momentum now, and he just looks the much fresher fighter. Not saying Joet isn't still ** him work, but Navarrete is working, and the work is winning the fight. Navarrete digging to the body with left hooks. Gonzalez tries to get back with right hands to the body.

NAVARRETE vs GONZALEZ: Round 11

Another trip early in the round from Gonzalez. Navarrete gets back to throwing punches when they resume. Gonzalez with a nice right hand. Another right, Navarrete firing back again but not landing big. Navarrete staying busy but Gonzalez matching him better this round and landing the better shots. Also another low blow, probably. But Ray Corona has barely acknowledged them, so why would he stop?
